May is National Foster Care Month, an opportunity to recognize the important role foster parents play in the lives of Alaska’s youth, and to rally community support around issues surrounding foster care.

All through April, help say “thank you” to more than 50 therapeutic foster care families by gifting one $50 Fred Meyer gift card!

You can donate just $10 or $25 to the cause!

Here are some other ways you can express gratitude through May:

• Write a heartfelt thank you note or card.
• Organize a small appreciation event, like a potluck, a game night, or a simple gathering to celebrate their efforts.
• Help with childcare, errands, or meal preparation.
• Highlight the positive impact foster care has had on a child’s life on social media.
• Ask for their opinion! Involve them in decision-making and show them you value their input.
