The clinical services department provides individual, family, and group therapy as well as psychiatric services such as medication management. Clinical services are individualized, strength-based, and are based on the principles of trauma-informed-care.
DFS clinicians frequently use EMDR, play therapy, family therapy, trauma-focuses cognitive behavioral therapy, and other treatment approaches designed to help promote healthier relationships, improve self-regulation, and increase social and emotional competencies. DFS provides a 24-hour crisis hotline available to current clients and their families.
These services specialize in helping clients overcome severe emotional issues. DFS’s clinical services provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based treatment that increases our clients strengths and resources to reach their personal life goals, and attends to core issues of traumatic memory processing and reconnecting with self and others.
The Psychiatric Assessment and Mental Health Assessment provides comprehensive mental health assessments to children and families with children from 3 to 21 as well as adults. The purpose of the mental health assessment is to determine if an individual may benefit from behavioral health therapy (Individual, Family and Group therapy) or rehabilitation services (case management, skill development and or therapeutic foster care). Our master’s level clinicians conduct the mental health assessments.
Individual, Family, and Group Therapy provides therapy in an individual, family or group format, depending on client request and recommendations from the mental health assessment regarding most appropriate interventions for the client’s concerns. We provide treatment for individuals with a wide array of behavioral health challenges including: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional and Disruptive Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other anxiety disorders, and mood disorders including: Depression, and Bi-polar Disorder. Our therapy services are provided through a variety of treatment modalities from more interactive or play therapy interventions to multiple insight oriented therapies.
We have a psychiatrist on staff to provide psychiatric assessments for the appropriateness of medication to assist in the treatment of a behavioral health challenges and to monitor the effectiveness of medication.
