In Alaska, 1 in 10 youth are identified as potential victims of abuse and neglect. Whether the abuse is emotional, physical or sexual, the scars can last a lifetime — without the right help.
At Denali Family Services (DFS), our mission is to support the wellness of Alaska’s youth and families through community-based behavioral health services within Anchorage and Wasilla.
Since 1995, DFS has been providing high-quality behavioral health services to Alaska’s youth and their families. Each year, DFS supports more than 250 youth with a focus on therapeutic foster care, case management, clinical services, intensive school and community-based services, music therapy and more.
At Denali Family Services, we are committed to empowering and supporting the youth in our community. As part of our mission, we provide transportation for the young people we serve, but our current van is no longer reliable or safe enough for the growing needs of our program.
We are asking for your support in purchasing a new Toyota Sienna Minivan, which will help us safely transport youth to recreational, therapeutic, and enrichment activities in the community that they otherwise might not have an opportunity to participate in.
Your donation will go directly towards the cost of the new van, ensuring that the youth in our care have the transportation they need to succeed.
Donate today and help drive positive change in the lives of these young individuals!
In response to a growing need for therapeutic foster care in Anchorage, Denali Family Services and AK Child & Family have teamed up to promote and train therapeutic foster parents across Anchorage through the Foster Care is Love campaign.
This vital initiative is supported by a federal grant passed through the Municipality of Anchorage and is aimed at expanding the availability of therapeutic foster homes for youth with behavioral health challenges.
